Foster Lab
Cardiac physiology, mitochondrial assays & translational wet lab methods
In the Foster Lab, I support OGT/O-GlcNAc heart projects that connect cardiac stress responses to protein quality control, mitochondrial function, and ischemia/reperfusion injury. My work includes Langendorff preparation, western blot verification, immunoprecipitation support, method documentation, and manuscript or abstract preparation.

Research Overview
My current work sits between two related OGT/O-GlcNAc cardiac projects: an acute ischemic stress-granule manuscript and a broader abstract on how cardiomyocyte OGT loss reshapes mitochondrial and proteostasis networks.
- Documenting Langendorff heart perfusion and beating-heart setup
- Checking western blot readouts for OGT, O-GlcNAc, total protein, and selected validation targets
- Supporting immunoprecipitation workflows used to enrich candidate proteins like G3BP1
- Organizing snapshots, manuscript figures, abstract files, and presentation material
What I Do
Western Blot Output
Example western blot and quantification output from the Swimm supplemental figures, used to verify O-GlcNAc/OGA shifts against total-protein loading.
Research Outputs
Acute OGT/O-GlcNAc injury project connecting G3BP1-linked stress granules, Langendorff ischemia/reperfusion, and cardioprotection.
Chronic OGT-loss abstract focused on mitochondrial decline, proteostasis/HSP responses, remodeling signatures, and western blot validation.
